CCC Equipment History

The Official Start of the CCC is in 1933 and Officaially Ended in 1942.

The Official Reason for the Formation of the CCC. Was to Employ the Us Men that were out of work at the time. The Great Depression was in Full Swing. The Then President of the USA Put forth the Steeps needed to give full funding for the Civilian Conservation Corps. The Us Army was put in Charge of supplying the CCC with Truck and Equipment to do the Job.

Most Equipment was Purchased new as the Us Army was small and Just came out of WWW1. Any Surplus Equipment was sent to the CCC Camps all over the USA.

The Army Ordered 18,000 1 1/2 Ton Chevrolet Truck. (In the Army Now Video) Will show the CCC Truck Coming off the Production line.

Many Makes and Models of Trucks Were Purchased from Dealer Lots. It was Rare to have an order put in like the one with GM. Most Trucks seen in Pictures were Truck and Chassis only. The CCC Boys had to build the Rear Bodies. Near 1935 There was Two Official Bodies Built by the Camps with Custom Bow Sets for Canvas Covers.

The Us Army Corp. of Engineers of the time would lay out the camps before the Trucks full of CCC Boys. You will Notice that some Pictures will have Us Army Trucks in the BackGround.

On this website you will find that the Army was not the only Us Gov. Entity.

The Us Forestry,Us Army,Dept. Of interior,Us Ag. Were All There.

The CCC was offically ended in 1942 in Favor of sending the Boys Over seas for WW11.

Most All of the Trucks and Equipment Used By the CCC was Sent Over seas.

It was not until 1942. When Us Factories were set up to make Equipment for the War.

Most Think of the 1943 Trucks for Their Recreation Displays and Forgets What the CCC Did for the War Effort.

All the Men were drafted into the war. Except the Vets from WW1 and Men that could not Pass the Military Health Exams.
